Instrument Interviews

Who:     Anyone who wants to be in band for the first time!

What:    Instrument Interviews. This is a personal hands-on interview to determine what instrument your child will play in the Vale MS Band. Grading Policies

25 % Rehearsal Management: Students are issued items such as flip folders, concert folders, uniforms, lockers, instruments, etc. Students are also responsible for bringing music and pencils to rehearsal for every rehearsal. Grades will be docked according to preparedness with these items.

25 % Individual Performance: Students are assessed individually at many times during the year through various individual performances. Some examples are Solo and Ensemble Contest, Region music, and Play-offs of contest music.

25 % Concert Performance: By N.I.S.D. Policy, all performances are considered an extension of the classroom. Thus, students will be graded on attendance to concerts, football games, and other performances.

25 % Sectionals: Students are expected to attend extra rehearsals with their sections all year long (ie. Flutes, Clarinets, Trumpet, etc.).
